About Us

LUMA Fitness was created in 2007 by locals Justin and Jessica Elsey & Trent Herzog. It originally opened as S.P.D Factory (Speed & Power Development), a small facility on Lakeville that was designed to train high school and college athletes. Over time, as parents observed classes, interest sparked & curiosity began to build. The Mom’s approached Justin and began requesting group training of their own. Sooner than later, in 2010, LUMA Fitness was born and Justin and Jessica continued the legacy. Although they still train athletes, it has since grown & evolved into a much larger community and caters to a larger demographic of adults. 13 years later, the stronger named LUMA Fitness still remains the only locally owned gym and the #1 place to get in shape! As parents to three young girls, Justin and Jessica understand the importance of their community and mentor ship for the next generation. LUMA Fitness and its members are a family of hardworking, community centered Petalumans along with a handful of other local business owners.
