Luma Fitness was created in 2007. It originally opened as S.P.D Factory (Speed & Power Development), a small facility on Lakeville Hwy that was designed to train high school and college athletes. Over time, as parents observed classes, interest sparked & curiosity began to build. The parents approached and began requesting group training of their own. In 2010, the next chapter began and Luma Fitness was born. Although Luma still trains athletes, it has since grown & evolved into a much larger community and caters to a larger demographic of adults.
In 2020, during the Pandemic, Luma Fitness was sold to Connor & Kehley Waggoner. Connor was one of original FIVE MEMBERS ever at S.P.D Factory. 15 years later, the stronger named Luma Fitness still remains the only locally owned gym and the #1 place to get in shape! Luma Fitness and its members are a family of hardworking, community centered Petalumans along with a handful of other local business owners.
In 2025, LUMA Fitness took its next exciting step. Moving to the heart of downtown Petaluma! This move brings us closer to the community we serve, making it easier than ever for locals to train with their neighbors. Our new downtown location offers the same authentic, community-driven experience you've come to love, now in a space that's more accessible and connected to Petaluma's vibrant downtown. Whether you're walking from home, stopping by after work, or meeting friends for a morning class, your hometown gym is right where you need it.
